Project news: Renovation of Turku City Hall block

A new and extremely interesting renovation project is starting. We are serving as principal architect and architectural, furniture and interior designer. Rakennustoimisto Laamo Oy is the project management contractor.

The quarter consists of seven protected buildings from different periods and has significant cityscape value in the Turku city centre. In the project, the building foundations will be reinforced in part with piles and the buildings will be renovated while taking their architecturally historical characteristics into account. In addition, the building grounds will be updated, making them a pleasant meeting place open to all and suited to the valuable environment of City Hall.

The aim of the project is to create a functional entity that meets the needs of its users well. The goals set out in the City of Turku Green Deal and EU Taxonomy will also be taken into account in the design and construction.

The project began in February 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2028.
