Order conferred upon Tiitta Itkonen

The President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb conferred upon architect Tiitta Itkonen the Order of the White Rose of Finland (FWR) on Finnish Independence Day, 6 December 2024. Today, we celebrated Tiitta’s great accomplishment with some champagne and cake.

Tiitta has earned this honour with her long career working in Finnish architecture and building heritage.

Tiitta’s specialised expertise focuses on the renovation design of demanding buildings and buildings of historical significance. During her career, she has served as head of architectural design in the renovation of a number of nationally significant protected buildings, such as: renovation of the Helsinki City Theatre (2013-2017), renovation of the National Library of Finland (Helsinki, 2011-2015), renovation and expansion of the Turku Art Museum (1998-2005), Suomenlinna Visitor Centre (Helsinki, 1995-1998) and renovation projects for protected government offices in the Helsinki city centre (2008-2014 ja 2017-2021).
