Renovation of the Lappeenranta Main Library is now complete

The extensive renovation of the Lappeenranta Main Library has been completed. Its grand opening was held in December.

Designed by architect Erkki Pasanen, this iconic building (1974) was given protected status upon its renovation, and its spaces, functionality and accessibility were improved. Energy-efficiency and carbon-neutrality were emphasised in accordance with the targets set by Lappeenranta and the building utilities were updated to meet current requirements.

Library patrons were able to visit the renovated main library, Parvi, on 10 December.
