The Hirvensalo Parish Center is completed

The Hirvensalo Parish Center in Turku has been completed, and the building has been handed over for the parish’s use. We acted as the lead, architectural, and interior designers for the project.

The original center, designed by architect Pekka Pitkänen, dates back to 1962. In the renovated center, the shape and interior walls of the old church hall were preserved, but for the most part, the center is a new construction. The spaces have been upgraded for versatility and accessibility. The exterior walls are built from solid brick blocks.

The main hall of the building was expanded to three times its original size, and the other spaces have been designed to meet the needs of early childhood education, youth and diaconal work, and scouting activities. The hall’s sacred and loose furnishings will be completed during the summer.
